CONVENIENCE COURT

WHAT IS CONVENIENCE TRAFFIC COURT?

Convenience Court is intended to assist

drivers who received a petty traffic violation and wish to request court supervision

drivers who received a compliance violation (no insurance card, no insurance, expired
registration/sticker, no valid driver's license, etc.)
by allowing those drivers to appear in court at a more convenient time than their assigned first appearance.

IMPORTANT -  PLEASE NOTE:

CONVENIENCE TRAFFIC COURT CANNOT BE USED BY DRIVERS WHO HAVE RECEIVED A TRAFFIC VIOLATION DUE TO A VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE, WITH AN INDIVIDUAL OR WITH PROPERTY.

WHEN IS CONVENIENCE TRAFFIC COURT HELD?

Convenience Traffic Court is held every Friday at noon in the Sangamon County Building, Courtroom 6C. (When necessary for accessibility purposes, Convenience Traffic Court may be held in Courtroom 5A. If this change occurs, a notice will be posted on the doors of Courtroom 6C providing redirection to Courtroom 5A.)
