WHAT IS IT?
Convenience Court is intended to assist drivers who received a
petty traffic violation and wish to request court supervision,
or drivers who received a compliance (insurance, registration,
no valid driver’s license, etc.) violation by allowing them to
appear at a more convenient time than their assigned first
WHEN IS IT HELD?
Convenience Court is held every Friday at noon in Courtroom 6C.
DO I HAVE TO BE SCHEDULED, OR CAN I JUST WALK IN?
Depending on your case type, you may need to be scheduled for
Convenience Court in order to be seen. See the disclaimer below
for more information or to determine your eligibility.
To be scheduled for Convenience Court, simply call the
Circuit Clerk’s office at (217) 753-6674 or visit our website at
live chat with one of our agents.
Convenience Court is held every Friday from noon to 1 pm in
courtroom 6C. You cannot sign up or appear for convenience court
if your citation has not been filed with the Circuit Clerk’s
office. To find out if your citation has been filed, please
visit the records section of the Circuit Clerk website at
scan the QR code below. You can also use our app available in
both the Apple App Store and Google Play. If your violation
involves a SINGLE insurance, no valid driver’s license or
registration violation and you are in compliance, you may
schedule your case ahead of time OR walk in. However, if you
wish to appear on any other petty traffic violation, or if you
received two (2) violations at the same time, you MUST be
scheduled in advance. Not all cases are eligible to be heard
during Convenience Court. Misdemeanor traffic, DUI violations,
and criminal misdemeanors are all excluded from the Convenience
Court option and your case will not be heard other than on the
assigned first appearance date. The court reserves the right to
hear cases at its own discretion.
